I graduated from Vancouver Film School's Classical Animation program (2007). I also hold a diploma in Forest Technology (2014) and a Bachelor's in Geographic Information Systems (2016) from Selkirk College. My work experiences include over three years in administrative office work, data entry, and logistics. A lot of my free time has been donated to environmental causes out in the field. I am also a member of BC's not-for-profit graphic novel society and have contributed an anthology piece to one of their books.
I am incredibly passionate about nature, culture, and technology. When I'm not focusing on work, career, and volunteering efforts, I dabble in just about everything: from yoga to kayaking, illustrations to fibre arts, messing around with computers, playing music, and learning languages (Some basic French, Japanese, and German, to name a few). My sense of humour unfortunately comes from pop culture and the internet.
The header of my portfolio reads "Multipotentialite". On the surface, my work and volunteer history shows that I have less than 3 years of experience in specific areas, and absolutely makes me a weaker choice. What I do hold is over 10 years of experience, beginning journeys several times while dealing with a changing world. Because I'm so deeply interested in a wide variety of subjects and worked with many businesses with different objectives, I am also able to understand and look at business objectives from an overall point of view, and make educated guesses into the long term future. These are all mandatory skills for modern times. Likewise, I work best with companies and people that share my forward-looking attitude and encourage a variety of challenges.
Some of my long term goals include building an 80 hour playtime video game that challenges my areas of expertise: programming, illustration, pixel art, and storytelling. My community-building goal is to start a free events flyer and the biggest Kootenay craft fair to harbour a bigger interest in media, arts, and culture in the Kootenays. I also desperately want my own garden, because vegetables are delicious.
